Crypto payments have become more mainstream recently and Mastercard is set to follow the trend as they are set to work with Binance.

The crypto market has turned out to be one of the most popular spaces in recent years with cryptocurrencies as hot assets, their use will be vital to the industry. Mastercard is set to partner with Binance to launch a card centred on crypto payments.

Cryptocurrency adoption has increased over the past few years with two entire countries fully adopting it as a legal tender. In many parts of the world, some accept crypto as payment which has convinced many people to invest in the market. People have mostly accepted crypto in the past few months as well despite the downward trend for the industry.

Mastercard and Binance’s decision will help the industry because it is primed to be one of the biggest projects in the crypto market’s history. This is a much bigger deal than some people think because this is a big step towards cryptocurrency adoption worldwide. This can lead to it being used in various situations including investments and even playing Bitcoin casino games if they want to.

Mastercard and Binance will start in Argentina

Forbes reported that both Mastercard and Binance have agreed to launch the crypto card with 14 assets. These are the cryptocurrencies that will be available when using this Mastercard:

  • Tether (USDT)
  • Binance Coin (BNB)
  • Bitcoin (BTC)
  • Ethereum (ETC)
  • Cardano (ADA)
  • Ripple (XRP)

Mentioned are just a few of the assets that will be used for the first time that the Mastercard is rolled out. They will pilot test it in Argentina where crypto has become one of the hottest assets too. This test in Argentina will be vital to the card’s growth because if the users in the country see that it can enact positive change, it will expand to different nations.

Mastercard is not the only player in this trend

This recent move from Mastercard and Binance is not the only development that you can see with crypto and the mainstream market. As Mastercard’s everlasting rival, Visa has also introduced some plans for a crypto-based card.

That has led to the projects to make a Coinbase Visa card, a Crypto.com Visa card, and a Binance Visa card. Most of these cards have cash back rewards on purchases across many different stores. Similarly, Argentina is the place that they would love to operate first since the country is filled with progressive-thinking people who know what crypto is and what to do with it.

The crypto market will grow with Mastercard at the forefront

With the crypto market’s struggle in 2022, this project by Mastercard and Binance is good news for the industry. They have a boost for a few months and with Mastercard playing a big role in crypto adoption on a worldwide scale, that will matter in the long run.

Argentina will be the focal point for the projects from Mastercard and Visa. With the crypto market improving every year, it can be used across many platforms like Gamdom. Now that the crypto market can only improve with time, this move from Mastercard makes sense because the future is bright.
