Ledger is set to release a new top-tier hardware wallet
Crypto wallets are made to store crypto assets and they’re a platform that can be used for transactions. While most wallets are based on software, there is a movement for hardware wallets so people won’t rely too much on their computers. Among the creators of these wallets is Ledger who wants to create a top-tier hardware wallet.
Crypto wallet maker Ledger has partnered with the well-known creator of Apple’s iPod and co-founder and former CEO of thermostat company Nest, Tony Fadell, to create the Ledger Stax hardware wallet.
With Stax, Ledger wants to create a device much better than the previous Nano S which looks like a USB thumb drive. Ledger CEO and chairman Pascal Gauthier believes the Stax will be the key to the full adoption of hardware wallets for various uses like Gamdom betting and managing crypto investments.

Details about the Ledger Stax
This wallet is a credit card-sized device that will have embedded magnets. Those magnets are made because multiple devices can be easily stacked if people want to keep any kind of crypto. The outside of the wallet is a wraparound e-ink display which can show the transaction details or even non-fungible tokens.
The Stax will use a secure USB-C to connect to the Ledger Live app on any desktop but it can also function using Bluetooth to connect to a smartphone and the Ledger mobile app. There will also be a wallet extension called Ledger Connect which will be used to connect to Web 3.0 apps.
The Stax will retail for $279 compared to the $79 for the Nano S Plus and Nano X Wallet for $149. The jury is still out for the product but the people behind the scenes at Ledger are ready to use this as their flagship product.
Ledger has benefited from FTX’s downfall
In November 2022, popular crypto exchange FTX filed for bankruptcy which led to their users losing their assets and distrusting digital wallets. With the enhanced security Ledger’s hardware wallets provide, many crypto wallet users turned to their products. Ledger released a statement that November 14, 2022, was their biggest day for sales which was just three days after FTX’s bankruptcy.
Ledger has also said that they have sold over five million hardware wallets around the world since they launched in Paris in 2014. It was a smart move for Ledger to market themselves as the most secure crypto wallet creator because the FTX fiasco has massively helped them.
With Fadell as one of the heads of the project, he has gradually grown to love the crypto market. He initially believed in the technology alone but with his new connection to crypto, he wants to show the positives of having crypto assets secured in a hardware product.
Fadell wants to make this product reach the same level as what the iPod did for Apple. He said, ‘That’s the hope. To have that iPod moment for digital assets. You can’t just integrate it into a phone, no matter how much you try. You need to have a real physical key in your life that holds the digital’.
The cryptocurrency market will keep growing and Ledger and its products will continue to thrive for the impeccable security they provide for digital assets. This makes them an optimal choice for people who want to play Bitcoin casino games or invest in a certain cryptocurrency.
